The electronic visa system enables citizens of countries included in this program to apply online without having to visit an embassy or consulate.The entire process is available on this website, and all that you need to prepare is a few minutes and Internet access.

The process of obtaining an electronic visa for Egypt is quick and manageable. To complete the application, you only need a few minutes, and the whole process takes a few days. The approved eVisa will be sent to the e-mail provided in the application automatically. The processing time might be extended, as it also depends on the immigration office in Egypt. Once your eVisa has been approved, you only need to travel with a valid passport and printed permission to enter Egypt.

Visa types

There are two types of visas that allow you to enter Egypt for tourist purposes:

• Single entry eVisa - is valid for three months from the issuance date. It authorizes a single, 30-day stay in the country territory.


• Multiple entry eVisa - remains valid for six months from the date of issue. The initial entry has to take place within the mentioned period of six months. It allows you to enter Egypt numerous times, but each stay cannot exceed 30 days.

Requirements for an eVisa

To apply for an eVisa to Egypt, you have to complete an online form and attach a scan or photo of your passports biodata page. Passports’ validity has to exceed a period for at least six months from the intended date of entry to Egypt.

Citizens of Germany, Belgium, France, Portugal, and Italy can also obtain an electronic visa based on a valid ID. While applying for an eVisa, instead of a copy of the passports’ biodata page, they can choose to attach a scan of both sides of the ID card. In such a case, instead of the passport number, you only need to provide your ID number.
